Segmental Casing

Carillion Piling have the equipment and expertise to construct piles using segmental casing.

Segmental casing is a specially engineered product designed to provide temporary support to pile bores when piles are to be constructed in unstable ground. Segmental casing is removed from the ground when the pile shaft has been concreted.

Segmental casing offers significant advantages in some situations, some of these advantages are listed:

  • Temporary casing depth can be easily varied to suit changing ground conditions.
  • Support fluids can often be eliminated.
  • Pile reinforcement can be easily and readily placed.
  • Piled retaining walls can be accurately constructed.
  • The exposed section of piles on piled walls usually has a superior finish to other techniques of cast in-situ piling.
