Contiguous Piled Wall, Bracknell
Bracknell has great spaces and connections for business already. But with the potential for more businesses to become an integral part of the town centre, we hoped to help create an area which encourages innovation, sharing and growth.
This development was for a commercial building that includes a large single storey basement. This town centre site is bounded on three sides by roads and on the fourth side by a petrol filling station.
Carillion Piling designed and constructed a bored pile contiguous retaining wall with a 4.5m retained height. The retaining wall was made up from 450mm and 600mm diameter piles, and was designed as a temporary cantilever support before a reinforced concrete inner composite skin wall was cast.
404no. piles were constructed using CFA techniques. These were constructed within programme allowing the main contractor to take advantage of good weather to finish ahead of schedule.
